The South Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Annual Public Lecture
The Don Dunstan Foundation is pleased to announce it will be co-presenting The Eleventh South Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Annual Public Lecture with the Women’s & Gender Studies teaching and research units at the three SA universities, and coincides with the biennial conference of the Australian Women’s & Gender Studies (AWGSA).
This year’s lecture Miscarrying in the Car: Centring Gendered Experiences of Homelessness will be delivered Dr Juliet Watson, Deputy Director of the Unison Housing Research Lab within the Social and Global Studies Centre, RMIT University; President of the Australian Women’s and Gender Studies Association.
By putting gender at the centre of how we understand homelessness, this lecture will bring to light complexities and dynamics which too often are ignored in the homelessness area.
Associate Professor (Flinders University) Barbara Baird will chair the night’s proceedings, and our very own Chair of the Don Dunstan Foundation, Dr Jane Lomax-Smith, will deliver the vote of thanks.
This event will be held on Thursday 15th July at Lecture Theatre 102, Napier building, University of Adelaide North Terrace Campus.
The event will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
The event is FREE, but RSVP’s are essential and can be made here.
