Breakfast Session with Doug Balfour | 16 October Doug Balfour shared his insights and experience with guests at a breakfast meeting, held in conjunction with the Wyatt Trust. As owner and CEO of philanthropic consulting company Geneva Global, Doug provides expert guidance to foundations, corporations, individuals, and other organisations throughout the world who seek to apply a business mindset and results-oriented approach to their social impact efforts. Dunstan Film Club | Throughout the year The Film Club was launched in September with a screening of this funny, moving film. In The Big Sick, a couple deals with their cultural differences as their relationship grows. Learn more

Dunstan Dialogues | Throughout the year The Dunstan Dialogues are a series of discussions between prominent visiting thinkers, and leaders in our state to exchange knowledge, make connections and collaborate. Learn more

2017 Hugo Lecture - Transforming a Broken Refugee System | 3 October 5:30pm Drawing upon his pioneering research on the economic lives and contributions of refugees in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, Betts shows that under the right conditions refugees can be a benefit to their host societies. He offers a new vision for our global refugee system and explores what it might mean for Australian refugee policy. Learn more

Open State Showcase: Future Us | 2 October 2017 9:30am – 3:00pm The Open State Showcase: Future Us gave the audience a taste of the Open State festival. Thought provoking guest speakers, including Jordan Nguyen, Fiona Kerr, Tia Kansara, Penelope Howarth, John O’Brien and Dr Kristin Alford pondered our potential existence as humans. Learn more

Human Rights Oration | TBC The Don Dunstan Human Rights Oration grew out of a partnership between the late Don Dunstan and the then Australian NGO Community Aid Abroad (now Oxfam Australia).  Learn more

AdMental | April 2018 One of the current priorities of the Foundation is to improve individual and community mental health. During Public Health Week, the Don Dunstan Foundation will host a Gruen Transfer inspired event to use the power of marketing to improve mental wellbeing. Learn more
