Don Dunstan Indigenous Anangu Pitjanjatjara ScholarshipIn 2005, the Dunstan Foundation established the Don Dunstan Indigenous Anangu Pitjanjatjara Scholarship in partnership with Wilto Yerlo at the University of Adelaide and Yunggorendi Centre at Flinders University. The Indigenous Anangu Pitjanjatjara Scholarship will provide financial assistance to a student studying through the program, University of Adelaide. Don Dunstan was an early and vigorous champion of Aboriginal land rights, including the AP Lands. The Smith Family "Learning for Life" ScholarshipThe Foundation continues to fund an undergraduate student through this program. The scheme is designed to provide access to tertiary and post-secondary education for economically disadvantaged students in South Australia, as well as a mentoring scheme to assist them with their study progress. The cost to sponsor one undergraduate tertiary or further education student is $2,000 per year, with a total commitment of $6,000 for three-year ordinary degree
PhD Scholarships Thanks to a generous grant from the Government of South Australia, the Foundation was able to fund two, one off PhD scholarships. Currently, the Foundation is not in a position to provide further such funds, as the annual stipend for a full-time PhD scholar is approximately $20,000, making the commitment for a three-year scholarship in the order of $60,000.
