31 July 2008 - Queensland

The Queensland Chapter of The Don Dunstan Foundation are pleased to announce the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd MP will deliver the inaugural Tom Burns Memorial Lecture at a lunch on Thursday 31 July 2008.

“The Tom Burns Memorial Lecture will be an annual event hosted by the Queensland Chapter of the Don Dunstan Foundation. The lecture, to be delivered each year by a prominent Australian, has been established to mark the contribution to Australian political and public life of former Queensland Deputy Premier the late Tom Burns who served as the first president of the Foundation in our state until his death in June last year. Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, who worked closely with Tom in state government has graciously accepted our invitation to deliver the inaugural lecture. Proceeds will support the charitable and community-support objectives of the Foundation’s Queensland Chapter. Members of the Don Dunstan Foundation thank Mrs Angela Burns and her family for their support of this initiative.”
